This trouble code history can be retrieved using blink code diagnostics or with a diagnostic tool. They are expensive — not only in terms of lives impacted and monetary outlays — but also in downtime, productivity, customer satisfaction and fleet reputation. Modulator 2 is installed at the left or rear position. Page 27 Section F: Troubleshooting the Power Supply. For more information on these diagnostic tools, contact Bendix or refer to your local authorized Bendix dealer. The odometer mileage can be read using a diagnostic tool or blink code diagnostics.
Apply a moderate amount of dielectric non-conductive grease to both the sensor connector and harness connector. Components with stripped threads or damaged parts should be replaced rather than repaired. The chuff sequence is then repeated. The indicated modulator fault may a static or dynamic fault. Make certain that no thread sealing material enters the valve.
That oil gets into the air brake system, and the oil can attack rubber components inside the valve. Verify proper number of tone ring teeth per sensed wheel. Blink code diagnostics can also be used to reset active fault codes. Following activation, there will be a 5-seconddelay followed by a blink code display of the odometer information x1000. Follow all Safe Maintenance Practices including, but not limited to, those on page 2 of this document.
The normally-openhold solenoid and normallyclosed exhaust solenoid are activated to precisely modify the brake pressure on command. If additional scratch pad space is needed, this storage space can be expanded to 1K 1,008 bytes total of data. For increased corrosion protection we recommend 3-Pin Modulator that a high-temperature rated silicon- or lithium-based. Complete odometer information can be retrieved using a diagnostic tool. Recheck for leakage around the relay exhaust port. Park the vehicle on a level surface, apply the parking brakes, and always block the wheels.
Never connect or disconnect a hose or line containing pressure; it may whip. For increased corrosion protection we recommend that a high-temperature rated silicon- or lithium-based grease be applied to the interior of the mounting block, the sensor, and to a new clamping sleeve. Diagnostics, testing, configuration, data transfer and other functions can be performed using this link. The signal should be measured on pin 7 of the J560 connector at the nose of the trailer. Fault history can be retrieved with blink code diagnostics or with a diagnostic tool. See Figures 16 and 17.
See Figure 13 for illustration. The ignition power wire blue wire of the J560 connector will carry this signal to the towing vehicle. Verify sensor leads are twisted pair. See pages 10-12for more information. Both blink code diagnostics or diagnostic tools can retrieve trouble code history, but only diagnostic tools can erase this information. Apply a moderate amount of non-conductiveelectrical grease to each connector pin before reconnecting.
Tone ring tooth count is defaulted to 100 teeth and can be set to 80, 86, 100 or 120 teeth. The blink code diagnostics mode is entered by providing constant power to the ignition circuit and toggling the brake light power input three times. Remove all air lines connected to the unit. Adjust speed sensors to contact tone ring. An extension cable must be used for Modulator 2. Resetting active fault codes with blink code diagnostics does not clear information from fault history. Temporary periods of wheel lock are permitted on the other wheel that is experiencing slippage.
However, repeated occurrences of a given fault will cause the fault code to latch. See Charts 1 and 2 for output values and pin locations. It is the responsibility of the technician to perform this test in a safe location. The normally-open hold solenoid and normally- closed exhaust solenoid are activated to precisely modify the brake pressure on command. Use only the proper tools and observe all precautions pertaining to use of those tools. For frame-mountmodules: Torque the mounting nuts to 180-220 in-lbs. Just fast and easy troubleshooting.
Never pierce wire insulation when checking for continuity. Then rerun the power up sequence. Number of axles, tire size, etc. Use only genuine Bendix ® replacement parts, components and kits. Document Revision Level Please visit Bendix. Install the new clamping sleeve fully into the block, with the retaining tabs toward the inside of the vehicle.
Vehicle stability is assisted by not allowing the high coefficient wheel where traction is still being maintained to sustain wheel lock. Drain the air pressure from all reservoirs. Depending on the installation, additional plugs may be necessary. The mileage will be calculated using wheel speed sensor information. Alternatively, you may e-mailthe Bendix technical assistance team at: tbs. A tank with a reinforced port must be used. Over-moldedversions of the wiring harness must be replaced if corrosion or damage occurs.
