Any more details beyond what you show—it looks like you skipped the exact procedure I am interested in— removing the sliding shade! Can it be gentely pulled off and glued back in or does it have to be replaced? I ordered the grey fabric here and it lightens up the interior and looks nice set against the darker trim pieces. When pulling out the old headliner there was a wire connected to the rear window defroster at the top on the driver's side. When the board is clean; glue the new material to the board. I've been putting this off for so long because I thought the headliner was going to be too difficult for me, but this really was a piece of cake. The easiest way to connect to the chatroom is with , a web client that you can run in your browser. I clothespinned it to the rear edge with no glue, then worked toward the front, gluing and applying about a foot at a time. In this case, the visors and the sunroof were kept the original color, which in my opinion gives a nice accent to the interior. Remove the screws from both sides of the handle, and it should simply fall off. Due to the size of the crate, we are unable to ship it. Went back and finished the rear last. Slide the headliner board back in the automobile and replace everything; and then slide the sunroof inside cover back into place.
August 8, 2016 Followup from the Pelican Staff: it will fit out the door opening. Plan on purchasing new pillar covers, and they are not cheap. It sounds possible, but headliners are fragile, don't want to give the wrong advice. So it's just like the factory. Pull down on the small center panel and unplug the sunroof switch.
April 29, 2011 Followup from the Pelican Staff: You can try to use the facric adhesive and repair it. The down side is you wonÂ't be able to install any exotic colors or materials. With all the small pieces that hold up the headliner removed, it should simply drop down onto the seats inset, upper right. Remove the mounts and unplug the wires. Spray the panel and the fabric with two thin coats of glue.
I loosened it at the top and slid the headliner toward that side. On the E36 to remove the headliner do I need to remove the sunroof? I tried this once, and although the results looked pretty good, itÂ's not a task I would ever want to do again see for tips on replacing the E30 headliner. To fully remove and install a headliner in their workshops was £420 +vat!!!!!!!. The inner panel of the sunroof is impossible to remove without removing the entire sunroof, so most people leave it the same color as it previously was see Project 78 on sunroof repair. Do you have any advice on fixing the headliner in those areas? Does the gloe get applied only to the liner pan, or also to the fabric? This created a uniform look across the adhesion. Can I wash the headliner with a mild detergent and water? I didn't want to risk gluing it on and doing a crap job, thinking that it may be near impossible to remove again.
My car has a sunroof so I was wondering if can be covered with the same material that is being sold here? These small covers have tiny plastic posts that can easily be broken if not removed with care. I got 2 yards of black headliner material from JoAnn's I did get some odd looks at the store ; and Loctite Carpet Glue level 300. Only took about 20 minutes to get it out. This is made exactly like the factory. You have to remove the entire sunroof panel to replace the trim panel. A couple of observations from my own experience.
July 15, 2010 Followup from the Pelican Staff: Yes, the sunroof uses the same material. I feel like I'm going to break the tab for the sliding the seat belt up and down. I'm not sure what the foam is really for. Use an Exacto knife to cut the material. Practice this with a dry-run first.
Push the covered piece back; allowing the clips that hold it in place to be detached. Finally, the upper portion of the door seal covers the edges of the frame. D: For each of the upper grab handles in the car, remove the small plastic covers that hide the mounting screws. New headliner material is cheap and looks great. It is the wire circled in red in this picture: Well I had a look at affixing the headlining material and came to the conclusion that the material was either not suitable or it would need to be stretched so that it wouldn't need folds. It was only offered for a e30 M3.
